Eby first premier to attend Vernon Winter Carnival in 50 years
Vernon Winter Carnival is celebrating its 64th anniversary with a prestigious honorary guest.  Premier David Eby will be attending this year's carnival alongside thousands of Vernon residents and visitors. This is the first time in 50 years a premier will be visiting Vernon's most popular winter event.  Eby, along with Vernon-Monashee MLA Harwinder Sandhu, will be attending three of the 135 events taking place this year.  Eby will attend the balloon glow event tonight.  Due to warmer weather, the event will take place at Kal Tire Place and Kin Race Track, rather than Polson Park. Those attending can expect to see the premier at around 5 p.m. READ MORE: Vernon Winter Carnival will look a little different this year https://infotel.ca/newsitem/vernon-winter-carnival-will-look-a-little-different-this-year/it102985 Tomorrow, Feb. 3, the premier will attend a VIP breakfast at Vernon Recreation Centre at 8 a.m. Then later that day at noon, Eby will attend the one-miler race, which will be followed by the Vernon Winter Carnival Parade.  This year there are 80 entries for floats at the parade, which will be followed by performances by Dirt Road Kings and Cod Gone Wild at the Vernon Recreation Centre.
