First snowfall expected in Kootenay and Shuswap region this week

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for Eagle Pass to Rogers Pass along the Trans-Canada Highway.

The first snow of the season is expected to begin Monday morning and continue until Tuesday afternoon, according to an Environment Canada press release from Oct. 22.

The arctic front is expected to bring 5 to 10 cm in Rogers Pass, Yoho Park, Kootenay Park and Elk Valley, and 5 cm in Revelstoke, Golden, Tsar Creek, and East Kootenay North Including Invermere.

Environment Canada cautions drivers about changing conditions.
