There were five wildfires discovered in Thompson-Okanagan region over the weekend, and all of them were human caused.
All of the fires are either being held or are under control as of today, April 22.
The Skoonka Creek fire is at 35 hectares in size, Botanie Lake fire is at 0.34 hectares, Cooney Bay fire is listed at 6.3 hectares, the Dutton Creek fire is at 4.37 hectares and the Nashwito Road fire is the smallest at 0.009 hectares.
BC Wildfire Service is reporting 113 ongoing wildfires throughout the province with six of them starting in the last 36 hours.

The largest fire at the moment is in the Burgess Creek area. The Cariboo Regional District has issued an evacuation alert in connection with that blaze.
Last year was the most destructive wildfire season in B.C.’s history with 2.84 million hectares burnt and thousands evacuated, according to the provincial government.
