iN VIDEO: Trailer revealed for doc showing how Logan Lake survived 2021 fire
The filming for a video documentary about the devastating Tremont Creek Fire and the trailblazing Firesmart program that protected the community of Logan Lake is complete.  Created by Vandelso Productions in Kamloops, the documentary titled The Test has been in development since the spring of 2022. "The community of Logan Lake, BC, spent 18 years preparing for a wildfire they hoped would never come... and then it did," reads the company's website. https://www.vandelsoproductions.ca/the-test/ "THE TEST is a documentary about the 18 years the community of Logan Lake spent becoming the first Certified Firesmart Community in Canada and the Tremont Wildfire that tested all of their hard work." It isn’t clear when the official launch date is yet, but the documentary trailer was recently released showing video footage of the forests surrounding Logan Lake before and after the inferno, stunning aerial photography and interviews with local residents and emergency response personnel. The Tremont Creek Fire escaped containment lines near Tunkwa Lake on Aug. 11, 2021 putting the community of Logan Lake and many others on evacuation alert. By Aug. 12, the whole community was evacuated https://infotel.ca/newsitem/logan-lake-is-under-evacuation-order/it85062 and two days later the fire was within municipal boundaries. Two decades of Firesmart work by the municipality of Logan Lake helped protect the town. Their defensive plans include a rooftop sprinkler system https://infotel.ca/newsitem/rooftop-wildfire-sprinkler-protection-for-new-homes-good-fit-for-kamloops-contractor/it84332 and a community owned forest that is managed to mitigate future wildfire risks.
