Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP officers arrested a man who is now facing several charges related to an assault with a weapon.
On Feb. 16, the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP were dispatched to a residence on the Skeetchenstn Reserve as part of an investigation into assault and breach of no-contact allegations, according to an RCMP media release.
Hours later, the officers responded to the 500 block of Notre Dame Drive to a report of an intoxicated man refusing to leave, the Kamloops RCMP then located the suspect from the Tk’emlúps report.
“The officer took the suspect into custody and he was held for court,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson, said in the release. “He was remanded in-custody to await his next appearance, scheduled for Feb. 23.”
The individual is facing charges of assault with a weapon on two counts as well as two counts of failure to comply with a probation officer.
Anyone with relevant information to the investigation is asked to the Tk’emlúps Rural RCMP Detachment at 250-314-1800 and reference file 2024-4792.
