Notorious 'Freedom Convoy' organizer Patrick King holding fundraiser in Kelowna
Freedom Convoy organizer Patrick King has a fundraising event in Kelowna as his criminal trial nears its end. King is expected to receive his verdict in October for charges related to the Freedom Convoy protests in Ottawa back in 2022. King’s defence said he was just a peaceful protester. King has pleaded not guilty on charges of mischief, counselling others to commit mischief, obstructing police and other crimes. The closing arguments were delivered in July and King was released on bail. He recently reappeared in court for allegations that he broke the conditions of his bail by posting online. The judge decided to release him again but with stricter conditions.   He's not allowed to use social media except for fundraising for his legal defence. He is not allowed to participate in protests, demonstrations, or possess any weapons.
