Penticton power outage affects 5,000 customers as temperatures plummet
There's currently a power outage in Penticton affecting thousands of residents. The City of Penticton has issued an alert saying 5,000 of its customers have been impacted. Crews have been dispatched to investigate the cause of the outage and work on fixing it. The electrical utility department was unable to comment on the situation, but did say its phones were “ringing off the hook,” and the city’s communication department is reportedly out of power and is unavailable. The city has put out a map of the affected area.  The city says it will provide more information as soon as possible.
