Police find violent offender wanted on warrants hiding in Kelowna attic
A 30-year-old Edmonton man wanted on numerous warrants is in custody after Kelowna RCMP officers found him hiding in an attic last week. Officers were sent to a residence in the 800 block of Royal View Drive, Dec. 6, after receiving reports that people were living in the home illegally, according to an RCMP media release issued today, Dec. 11. Two individuals were removed from the residence but a third one was still missing and believed to be hiding, RCMP said. The suspect had outstanding warrants from Alberta and BC as well as a history of violent offences. Officers attempted to call out to the hiding suspect multiple times and eventually found him hiding under insulation in the attic. An illegal firearm, a replica firearm and drugs were also seized from the home. The suspect was wanted on 24 warrants out of Edmonton that had been extended to BC. He remains in custody and will be escorted back to Edmonton for court.
