A missing Kamloops man's death is being investigated by RCMP as suspicious. The regional major crimes unit has taken over the investigation after his body was discovered "in rural Kamloops," according to a Southeast District RCMP news release issued today, Oct. 2. Police are releasing very few details about the investigation as they seek information from the public. The man, whose name and age were not released, was reported missing to Kamloops RCMP on Sept. 23. Police didn't say where and when his body was discovered. They later determined the car, a blue Dodge Dart, is related to the man's death. Staff Sgt. Jason Smart of the major crimes unit said determining how the man died is their "top priority" and information about the vehicle fire will help. He said police won't release anymore information to "protect the integrity of the investigation."
