Vernon police put high school under hold and secure

Kalamalka Secondary School has been placed under a hold and secure by Vernon RCMP.

Principal Jeff Huggins told parents that police were called to the school and security measures are an “abundance of caution.”

Generally, this means that students and staff are not allowed to enter or leave the building.

Vernon RCMP have not given any information on what incident is, yet.

School District 22 Superintendent Dr. Christine Perkins confirmed to iNFOnews.ca that the school is currently under a hold and secure and said that she cannot comment on the circumstances at this time.
