Vernon RCMP investigating after body found

Vernon North Okanagan RCMP were called at about 6:45 a.m. today, Jan. 10 for a report of a dead body in the 4200 block of 34 Street in Vernon. “We’re now in the process of securing the scene and additional resources are being directed to the location to assist with the investigation,” Const. Chris Terleski, media relations officer for the detachment, said in the news release. “We’re only in the very early stages of our investigation but based on what we know so far, there does not appear to be any risk to the public,” he said. No further information is being released at this time.
