3,500 homes in Okanagan without power

More than 3,500 homes in the Lake Country area are without power this morning.

According to B.C. Hydro's outage map, power has been off since 6:54 a.m., May 7.

The cause of the outage is under investigation and crews have been assigned to the task, according to B.C. Hydro.

Power is currently out for the west side of Lake Country, as well as along Westside Road including Fintry and Killiney Beach, according to the map.

B.C. Hydro's Dave Cooper, with community relations, said he will have a response to the cause of the outage within the hour.
