B.C. residents more satisfied than most Canadians with COVID booster shot efforts: survey

British Columbians are more satisfied with their province's COVID booster shot efforts than most Canadians, according to a new survey.

Across the country, 65% of respondents are satisfied with their province’s booster shot efforts, while 67% of British Columbians are satisfied, a Research Co. online survey found.

The only province with a greater proportion of residents satisfied with the booster shot campaign is Quebec, where 68% of the population reported their satisfaction. Ontario also scored relatively high at 65%, and the lowest-scoring province was Alberta at 55%.

Older Canadians are more likely to believe the government’s efforts are unfolding at the proper pace.

“While 55% of Canadians aged 18 to 34 are satisfied with how vaccines are being provided in their province, the proportion rises to 61% among those aged 35 to 54 and to 67% among those aged 55 and over,” Mario Canseco, president of Research Co. said in a press release.

Among those who voted for the Liberal Party of Canada in the 2021 election, 84% are satisfied with the procurement of booster shots, compared to 69% of NDP voters and 68% of Conservative voters who are satisfied.

The data was collected from 1,000 Canadian adults in an online study from Jan. 28 to 30, and the information is weighted according to Canadian census figures for age, gender and region, and there is a margin of error of 3.1%, 19 out of 20 times.
