Distracted driving? Traffic stop finds Kamloops driver committing 'indecent act'

Police officers never know what they will find on any given traffic stop, but this one won't be forgotten soon.

Last week, Kamloops police found a driver engaging in an "indecent act" while behind the wheel and he refused to stop what he was doing, even while dealing with police. The Mountie had to call in backup to arrest him.

The officer stopped the vehicle on Valleyview for driving without its headlights on, around 1:17 a.m., Feb. 26, according to a Kamloops RCMP news release.

Once the driver was arrested along the East Trans Canada Highway Frontage Road, he was taken into cells to sober up.

He was also given a 24-hour driving suspension for driving while under the influence of drugs, along with tickets for being without a driver's license and driving without headlights, according to the release.
