House fire in Kelowna this morning is under investigation
Firefighters put out a house fire in Kelowna early this morning. The Kelowna Fire Department received a call about a structure fire in the 700 block of Matt Road around 2 a.m., according to a press release from KFD.  When firefighters arrived they reported heavy smoke and flames billowing from a window on the second floor. KFD was able to contain the fire so it didn’t spread to nearby homes and make sure everyone in the house got out safely. Investigators are looking into the cause of the fire. The Kelowna Fire Department responded with three engines, one rescue unit, and a command unit, for a total of 15 KFD personnel. RCMP and BCAS were also on the scene. KFD wants to remind the public to regularly check smoke alarms.
