iN VIDEO: Vernon school board meeting disrupted and shut down by protesters

A video posted on YouTube five days ago by a group calling itself Big Tree View shows what appears to be members of the Vernon School District Board walking out and shutting down their meeting as a woman reads a lengthy diatribe of accusations. The video does not identify the speaker and begins part way into her speech as board members start walking out of the room. “If you stand up, or leave the room, it will be deemed as your resignation,” the speaker says. Once the board members and staff leave, the speaker turns to face the audience for the rest of her tirade that goes on for more than 10 minutes. Meanwhile, staff members tried playing loud music, then turning out the lights It’s unclear from the video how many are in the audience but it appears to be at least a dozen. The last Vernon school board meeting was Dec. 13. The video ends when the woman finishes speaking. Vernon school board has been the site of similar protests in the past.
