Kalamalka Rotary hosted its 39th Annual Dream Auction this weekend and raised more than $237,000.
The theme of this year's event at the Prestige Vernon Lodge on Saturday, Nov. 18, was Back to Black, according to a media release. It was the first time in three years Rotary held the event live, rather than virtually, and it was a huge success.
More that 360 guests attended the live and silent auctions raising $237,456.
"Reflecting on the success of the 39th Annual Dream Auction, I am humbled by the incredible support of our community. The energy in the room was electrifying, and it's a testament to the dedication of our volunteers and the generosity of our sponsors. Together, we are making a tangible difference, and I want to express my deepest appreciation to everyone who contributed," Dream Auction chair Brian Reid said in the release.
The auction was led by dynamic duo Don and Brody Raffan.
"The funds raised will fuel our ongoing commitment to service and community betterment," Kalamalka Rotary president Tom Lewis said in the release. "I extend my heartfelt thanks to all who participated, and I am excited about the positive impact we will continue to make together."
The funds raised by the Dream Auction will be put towards community projects and initiatives. Organizations and groups seeking funding for their projects can apply through an online portal on the Kalamalka Rotary Funding Requests page here.
