Kamloops blaze causes 'extensive damage' to home

A fire that started in the kitchen of a Kamloops home yesterday morning caused extensive damage to the property.

Chris Pretula, with Kamloops Fire Rescue, said firefighters got a call at roughly 9:25 a.m., Dec. 18 to a house fire on Monteith Drive.

The fire caused extensive damage to both floors of the house and also damaged the siding of a neighbouring property, he said.

No injuries were reported, he said. Fire investigators will be on scene during the week, he said.

Kamloops Fire Rescue crews remained on scene until roughly 11:15 a.m.
