Kamloops RCMP 'suspicious debris' investigation is a body
A body was discovered near Rivers Trail on Tuesday after a fire near the Red Bridge. Bylaw officers are blocking the public from getting too close to the scene today, while police have the area covered and lit with generator lights. Police alerted the public hours after a worker cleaned up a burnt area of brush, only to discover the body, around 1:40 p.m., Jan. 23. The charred scene is covered overhead by a tent, while the surrounding area is taped off.  Kamloops RCMP asked the public to avoid the area late yesterday afternoon, describing the body as "suspicious debris." https://infotel.ca/newsitem/suspicious-debris-near-kamloops-bridge-has-police-investigating/it102819 Personnel at the scene confirmed a body was found. Police and bylaw officers have most of the path between the Red Bridge and the train bridge blocked as they investigate the scene. RCMP haven't said whether the death is being investigated as a homicide or whether the body itself was burned. It's also not clear when the fire took place. iNFOnews.ca is waiting for confirmation from RCMP.
