Kelowna fatal shooting victim identified by family
Days after a police incident shut down Highway 97, a woman reported her brother was the victim of a fatal shooting. Jacqueline Kofoed announced on social media that her brother Jeremy Kofoed was tragically shot and killed.  “It is with broken hearts that we share the sad news that our dear Jeremy (my brother) was the victim of a fatal shooting that took place at Adventure Trucks on Wednesday, March 27,” she wrote. “This was the tragic result of an argument between Jeremy and a known acquaintance that escalated to the point of violence. After Jeremy was shot, it appears the known acquaintance started a fire in the building then took his own life.” Police have not confirmed any details.  Kelowna RCMP shut down Highway 97 because of an incident in the 100-block of Adams Road where Adventure Trucks is located around 3 p.m. on March 27. There was a heavy police presence and RCMP launched an investigation. The latest update from police was around 8:30 p.m. on March 27. Because this incident also included a structure fire in the location of interest, it will take some time before our officers can safely go in and continue the investigation,” Cpl. Michael Gauthier said in a press release. Jeremy Kofoed was the owner of Adventure Trucks, where he helped people upgrade their vehicles so they could explore the great outdoors. “We are all together, surrounding Jer's family with love and support, trying to make sense of the magnitude of this tragedy. Thank you so much for your love and care,” she wrote.
