Police evacuate neighbours after firearm threat in Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP evacuated two homes when a woman threatened to use a gun early Friday morning.

Around 3:30 a.m. Friday, Nov. 4, police responded to the 800 block of Newman Street in Brocklehurst where an intoxicated woman was barricaded in a room, according to an RCMP media release.

Kamloops RCMP evacuated that home and a neighbour's as a precaution before they found out she was unarmed, police said.

RCMP said the woman was cooperative and was lodged in cells until she sobered up, then released without process.
