Second emergency vehicle stolen from Cariboo region within week

A volunteer fire department is asking for the public's help to find a new truck after it was stolen out of a fire hall.

The Interlakes Volunteer Fire Department reported their truck was stolen last night, April 8, according to a post shared to their Facebook page

The theft occurred when their hall was broken into in Bridge Lakes, at the intersection of Highway 24 and Lee Road.

The truck has a IVFD logo and is easy to identify, according to the fire department.

This is the second time an emergency vehicle has been stolen in the region within the last week.

Last Saturday, April 2, a truck was stolen from the Williams Lake Search and Rescue team. It was a red 2021 Dodge Ram 5500.

No updates have been provided since it was reported stolen. Police told the public last weekend not to approach the stolen search and rescue vehicle if spotted, but rather call 9-1-1.

The RCMP could not be immediately reached for comment.
