Serious crash near Monte Lake shut down Highway 97 overnight

Two semi trucks crashed on Highway 97 near Monte Lake yesterday evening resulting in an overnight road closure with a detour. The highway has been cleared between Barnhartvale Road and Hanna Road, according to an update by DriveBC early this morning, Feb. 13. DriveBC first reported the road was closed due to a vehicle crash around 7 p.m. yesterday and that a detour was in effect through Barnhartvale to Highway 1. It isn’t clear yet if anyone was injured.  RCMP and BC Emergency Health Services have not immediately responded to a request of comment.
