Snowfall warning issued for Central and South Okanagan

Environment Canada has issued a snowfall warning for the Central and South Okanagan as 10 to 15 cms are expected to fall overnight.

The weather office says a cold northerly wind will funnel down the Okanagan Valley tonight as a disturbance crosses the southern interior. Ten cms are expected everywhere but as cold northerly winds interact with air above warmer Okanagan lakes, it could drop more snow in specific areas. And just to make matters worse, gusting winds will be blowing all that snow around and reducing visibility for drivers.

We're not the only area getting this new round of weather. Snowfall warnings were also issued for Hope, B.C. where 10 cms are expected, while the entire Fraser Valley, including Metro Vancouver, are preparing for a plunge in temperatures. Environment Canada says falling temperatures and the coming winds will make it feel like -20 C early Sunday morning and all the way till Wednesday.
