Police stopped a vehicle in Kamloops suspecting the driver to be impaired, but a search of the car uncovered a stash of weapons, cash and drugs.

An officer pulled the vehicle over near Todd Road and Crawford Place where it was seen driving "suspiciously" in Dallas on Friday night, March 11, according to an RCMP media release.

During the traffic stop, police seized cash, an imitation firearm, ammunition, knives and 2.4 grams of what police suspect is methamphetamine.

The driver was later released and the investigation is ongoing, RCMP said.

Police did not say if the drive was impaired.
