A pedestrian was hit by a small bus while walking across a crosswalk in Kamloops yesterday, April 24.

The bus then went on to collide with a parked vehicle and a hydro pole before coming to a stop.

According to a April 25 Kamloops RCMP media release, the incident happened at the intersection of Desmond Street and Tranquille Road where the woman was crossing on the north sidewalk.

"After striking the woman, the bus swerved into a business parking lot, collided with a parked vehicle and a hydro pole, then continued on before coming to rest against a set of building pillars," Kamloops RCMP said in the release.

The pedestrian was transported by ambulance to hospital in serious but stable condition and the driver of the private bus was treated for minor injuries.

Police say the cause of the crash is not believed to be criminal.

Kamloops RCMP is asking anyone with information related to the incident to call 250-828-3000 and reference file number 2022-13303.
