Highway 6 closed due to downed power lines

Highway 6 has closed this afternoon due to downed power lines near Lumby.

DriveB.C. is reporting the incident between Gibson Road and Montgomery Road, roughly six kilometres east of the town.

All lanes are currently blocked. Drivers are being asked to watch for traffic control and to expect delays. Ministry of Transportation crews are on route, according to DriveB.C.

B.C. Hydro is also reporting that roughly 900 customers are currently without power in that area. Crews have been assigned to the incidents both east of Lumby along Mable Lake Road and along Creighton Valley Road.
