Police investigating after man stabbed in North Kamloops

Kamloops RCMP were called to the North Shore Wednesday afternoon for a stabbing.

A witness was tending to the 37-year-old victim on the corner of 8 Street and Brentwood Avenue when officers arrived around 1:30 p.m., Aug. 2, according to a news release.

His injuries were serious, but police say they weren't life-threatening. He was taken to hospital that afternoon.

“Witnesses have described an Indigenous man who is approximately 5’9” tall, with short buzz cut hair wearing cargo pants, black boots and no shirt fleeing the scene,” Staff Sgt. Janelle Shoihet of Kamloops RCMP said in the news release.

She said he disappeared down an alley in the Fortune Shopping Centre. Although he was shirtless, he might have been wearing a green zip-up hoodie at the time of the attack.
