The Penticton RCMP is searching for a man who allegedly assaulted a senior in Walmart over a parking space. An 85-year-old man was in the Walmart parking low when a man started a confrontation with him about the way he had parked his car, according to a press release from Penticton RCMP. During the argument the suspect tripped the senior and then took off in a dark-coloured SUV. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. “Police have acquired video surveillance footage of the suspect in this matter, in which we hope can help identify the suspect,” RCMP spokesperson Cpl. James Grandy said in the release. “No one in our community, especially a vulnerable person, should be threatened or harmed while trying to simply shop.” RCMP describe the suspect as a Caucasian man with balding dark hair, a moustache and glasses. He was wearing a blue and green Seattle Seahawks sweater. Anyone with information on the identity of the suspect is asked to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 and quote file 2023-19515.
