Police on look out for two suspects after brazen home invasion
Two suspects were seen running from a Kamloops home invasion carrying firearms yesterday morning before fleeing in an SUV. Kamloops RCMP said the two men forced their way into the Aberdeen neighbourhood home while some of the residents were sleeping. “Those in the area saw two men running away with what appeared to be firearms, before leaving the area in a black SUV,” Cpl. Crystal Evelyn, detachment spokesperson, said in a news release. Police were called to the 2400 block of Drummond Court around 11 a.m., Feb. 15. They stopped a nearby black SUV, but it wasn't related to the home invasion. The two suspects who broke in weren't found, but police seized firearms and drugs from the house. Police didn't say whether the two suspects managed to steal anything from inside the home, but officers left with weapons, ammunition and more than 150 grams of drugs. The drugs appeared to be packaged for sale and include suspected meth, cocaine and crack, RCMP said. When asked about the occupants inside the house and the drug seizure, Evelyn said no one from inside the house was arrested and the investigation is ongoing. RCMP released photos of the two break-in suspects, looking to the public to identify the men. “The incident is believed to be targeted. We are releasing images of the two suspects with hope that someone from the public can help police identify them," Evelyn said. One is described as a six-foot-tall man, who's roughly 30 years old. He was dressed in black and had a closely-cropped beard. The second man was wearing a balaclava and police say he has a "longer nose." He's estimated to be about the same height and age as the other suspect. He was wearing a blue track suit with three white stripes on the arms and legs at the time.
