Standoff with RCMP in Kamloops ends with three arrests

Kamloops RCMP arrested three people after a lengthy standoff on Friday related to a robbery on the North Shore.

Police received a report about an injured man who was allegedly assaulted with a weapon and robbed early in the morning on Nov. 3, according to an RCMP press release.

RCMP found a residence on Larkspur Road where they believed the suspects were.

Officers surrounded the building and after a long standoff with the suspects police arrested two men and a woman.

The robbery victim suffered non-life-threatening injuries and was taken to the hospital.

“A police presence remained in the area following the arrest as officers worked to obtain, then execute a search warrant on the residence as part of the ongoing investigation,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Crystal Evelyn said in the release. 

Police say the people involved knew each other.

Two of the suspects have been released from custody with court dates and conditions, police did not report what the individuals might be charged with.
