Two bones found near Kamloops airport confirmed to be human

A second bone discovered on a walkway near the Kamloops airport has been confirmed to be human.

The bone was found by a hiker and their dog, April 9, and it has since been examined by B.C. Coroners Service, which confirmed its authenticity, according to an RCMP media release. The first bone was found in the same area on March 26.

“Due to the proximity of the bones, it is suspected the two are related, but we won’t know for certain until a DNA analysis is completed,” Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Const. Crystal Evelyn said in the release.

No other items of significance have been located.
