West Kelowna getting its own ICBC licencing office
West Kelowna residents will no longer have to cross the bridge into Kelowna to access ICBC licencing services. ICBC has announced it will be opening a new licencing office in West Kelowna next summer. Previously, drivers had to go to Kelowna or Summerland for their road tests, and often dealt with slim availabilities. “We’re planning to open a new driver licencing office inside the new West Kelowna City Hall to help meet the growing demand for services in the Okanagan area,” David Wong, ICBC president and CEO, said in a media release. The new ICBC office will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday to Friday  It will offer all driver licensing counter services including license renewals, knowledge tests and some road tests for class 5, 6, 7 and 8 drivers. The official opening date for the office is not available as of yet.
