Kelowna RCMP responding to 'unfolding incident' in Lower Mission

Kelowna RCMP are asking the public to avoid an "unfolding incident" in the Lower Mission area.

Police responded to the 600 block of Lequime Road around 11:35 a.m. today, March 9, following a report of an "incident" at a home in the area, according to a Kelowna RCMP news release.

There is little information about the nature of the report, but there is a heavy police presence in the area and RCMP is asking both the public and media to avoid posting photos of officers on the scene.

Drivers are also asked to avoid the area if possible.

Kelowna RCMP will release more information.
