RCMP searching for missing woman in Kelowna

The Kelowna RCMP is asking for the public's help to find a missing woman.

Wendy Tarr was last seen on April 8, at 11:50 a.m., on foot in the area of KLO Road and Benvoulin Road, according to the RCMP in a press release.

Police believe she is in the Kelowna area and may have accessed the Mission Greenway trail system.

RCMP officers are concerned for Tarr's health and well-being, as her family said it is out of character for her to be out of contact for this long.

Police have searched the area where Tarr, 53, was last seen with the assistance of Central Okanagan Search and Rescue throughout the night but did not find her.

Tarr is described as Indigenous, five-foot-six with a medium build, short brown hair and brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a purple jacket with black sleeves, blue jeans and a purple hat, according to the RCMP.

Anyone with information on Tarr's whereabouts is asked to contact their local police or Crimestoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS).
