Kamloops Petro-Canada gas stations running out of fuel: Tk'emlups

The Suncor fuel terminal in Kamloops hasn't been able to deliver fuel for the past 36 hours leading to shortages at Petro-Canada stations in the city. A Tk'emlups te Secwepemc social media post today, Jan. 19, warns its residents to conserve their fuel. The terminal issues have led to fuel shortages throughout the city and at the Tk'emlups Petro-Canada, according to the band's social media post. "We are diligently working on sourcing out fuel from other terminals within the province," the post reads. The Tk'emlups Petro-Canada did get a delivery from Prince George today, so fuel at that station will last the day, but it doesn't have premium octane. "We thank you for your patience and apologize for the inconvenience. We will continue to mitigate this issue," the Tk'emlups social media post reads. Suncor hasn't responded to questions from iNFOnews.ca. It's not clear how widespread the missed deliveries are. Ed Ratuski, Kamloops Airport manager, said flights are unaffected by the fuel shortage as the terminal doesn't deliver jet fuel to the airport. He did say, however, he saw a lineup of fuel trucks outside the terminal when he arrived Friday morning.
